The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait has announced a series of exceptional measures to address the current extraordinary circumstances facing the country.
The ministry has confirmed the automatic extension of all types of visit entry visas that have expired or are set to expire during the present situation. This extension will be for a period of one month, effective from February 28, 2026. The extension will be processed electronically, without the need for individuals to visit residency affairs departments. Additionally, the ministry has confirmed a complete waiver of all prescribed fees and any resulting fines during this period.
Furthermore, the ministry has granted an additional three-month absence permit for residents currently outside Kuwait who have exceeded the permitted absence period and are unable to return. This measure will also be implemented automatically through the electronic system, without the need for in-person procedures, and with exemption from applicable fees.
The ministry emphasized that the specified periods may be extended further depending on developments in the country’s situation and urged citizens and residents to rely solely on the ministry’s official communication channels for updates and further announcements.
