The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of three individuals, two Kuwaiti nationals and one Colombian national, for allegedly mocking the current situation in the country through a video circulating on social media.
According to the ministry, the suspects face charges that include spreading false news, harming the national interests of the country, and misuse of a telephone. The arrests were made as part of the ministry’s ongoing monitoring of content on social media platforms.
Following the detection of the video clip, the competent authorities took immediate action and apprehended the suspects. All three have been detained, and the necessary legal procedures have been completed to refer them to the relevant authorities for further action.
The Ministry of Interior stressed that such behavior is unacceptable and reiterated the importance of adhering to the laws and regulations governing the use of social media platforms. The ministry also urged the public to refrain from publishing or circulating content that could harm the interests of the State and called on everyone to act responsibly and uphold their national duties.
Authorities emphasized that the law will be firmly applied against anyone who violates regulations, particularly under the current circumstances facing the country and the region.
