PIFSS Main Building in Kuwait Damaged in Attack; No Injuries Reported

The Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) in Kuwait reported that its main building sustained material damage after being targeted in an attack early on Sunday, March 8th. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

In a statement, PIFSS announced that its headquarters will remain closed to the public on the day of the incident, while other branches will continue to receive visitors. Transactions will proceed as usual through the institution’s electronic services, and clients are urged to use digital channels during this period.

Acting Director General Khaled Al-Mudhaf reassured that PIFSS operations are continuing from secure alternative locations. He confirmed that all data remains safe and backed up, with most services functioning through online platforms. Several security guards who were in designated shelters inside the building were safely evacuated after the attack ignited a fire.

The Ministry of Interior and the General Fire Force quickly responded to the incident, and senior management teams were present at the site to oversee the situation. PIFSS has confirmed that operations at its main building will remain suspended until further notice, while other branches continue functioning as planned at an operating rate of 30 percent.
