The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC) National Committee Kuwait has announced its contribution to the Wayanad rehabilitation housing project led by Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi. As part of the initiative to construct 100 houses for underprivileged families, OICC Kuwait is providing assistance for the very first house under the project.
The official handover will take place during the “Venu Poornima” function scheduled for August 22. The event will witness the presentation of the first house assistance to former Kerala Minister and KPCC Working President A.P. Anil Kumar. The ceremony will be held in the presence of AICC Organization General Secretary and Member of Parliament K.C. Venugopal, with public participation and OICC Kuwait workers in attendance.
The event will also see the presentation of the First Rajiv Gandhi Award for Best Public Servant, instituted by OICC Kuwait in memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The inaugural award will be conferred upon K.C. Venugopal MP by Panakkad Syed Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal at a special function to be held at the Shuwaikh Convention Centre and Royal Suite Hotel on the same day, Friday, August 22.
The award ceremony will be followed by a musical evening featuring renowned artists from Kerala, adding a cultural flair to the occasion.
