The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait has strongly condemned the “treacherous Iranian attack” that targeted the building of the United States Embassy in Kuwait. The ministry stated that this act constitutes a “flagrant violation of all international norms and laws,” including the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Vienna Convention of 1961 on Diplomatic Relations, which grant immunity to diplomatic buildings and their staff even in cases of armed conflict.
The ministry reiterated Kuwait’s right to take “all necessary measures and actions to protect its security, the safety of its territories, its citizens, and the residents therein.”
