The AIM Investment Summit 2026 opened in Dubai on Monday with Kuwait’s participation, represented by Finance Minister Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rifai, alongside government officials, investors and business leaders from around the world.
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the three-day summit operates under the theme “Reshaping Global Prosperity: Unlocking New Investment Paths Towards a Sustainable and Inclusive Future.”
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, affirmed that GCC countries have become an interconnected economic and investment system based on a large financial and economic base. This foundation has strengthened their ability to grow and attract investments, given their economic stability, well-established institutions, and clear development visions.
Kuwait’s Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Khaled Al-Zaabi, said Kuwait’s participation reflects its commitment to international economic and investment forums and to exchanging expertise and perspectives that can strengthen cooperation and create partnerships serving mutual interests. Al-Zaabi commended the UAE’s organization of the event and its broad international participation, describing Dubai as a global hub for business and investment and a platform for bringing together decision-makers, investors and business leaders.
Now in its 15th edition, the summit is addressing global economic challenges, emerging investment opportunities and ways to expand international cooperation and cross-border partnerships. Discussions are focusing on developments in the global economy, particularly the digital economy, sustainability, innovation and emerging economic sectors.
The summit’s agenda is structured around three main pillars: Global Markets, Economies of the Future and The Next Generation. The programme includes conferences, dialogue sessions, roundtables and workshops, as well as an international exhibition, investor-opportunity matchmaking meetings, memorandum-of-understanding signings and a competition for projects and startups.
The annual summit brings together government officials, investors and business leaders to examine global economic challenges and identify investment opportunities in emerging markets and future-oriented sectors.
What This Means for Expats: Kuwait’s active participation in major international investment forums like AIM 2026 signals the country’s commitment to economic growth and attracting foreign investment, which can create business and employment opportunities for the expat community across various sectors.
