The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has implemented new measures to make airport charges clearer for passengers booking flights from Kuwait International Airport. DGCA Circular No. 58 of 2026, issued on October 19, requires airlines to include airport fees directly in ticket prices and standardizes how these charges are disclosed.
According to DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the circular aims to enhance transparency so passengers understand exactly what they’re paying when they book. The new rules also regulate relationships between passengers, airlines, and travel agencies, and give passengers a clear reference point when canceling tickets.
Al-Rajhi noted that not all fee codes in the circular are new—some were already in use before the circular’s release. He emphasized that airlines and travel agencies must comply with the circular and use the specified fee codes to prevent confusion and ensure passengers receive accurate information.
What This Means for Expats: When booking flights from Kuwait, you’ll now see airport fees itemized in your ticket price upfront, making it easier to compare fares and understand total costs before purchasing.
