Kuwait Strongly Condemns Iranian Attacks on Gulf States

Kuwait’s government has strongly condemned recent Iranian attacks targeting the country and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah reiterated Kuwait’s condemnation of the “malicious Iranian attacks” during a joint GCC–European Union ministerial meeting.

Sheikh Jarrah stated that the attacks constitute a “blatant violation” of Kuwait and other GCC states’ sovereignty, as well as international law and the UN Charter. He affirmed Kuwait’s right to self-defense and said the country will take necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and protect citizens and residents.

The escalation has claimed lives in Kuwait, including 11-year-old Alna Abdullah, who died after being injured by falling shrapnel that struck her home. She was laid to rest on Wednesday. Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah visited the families of two Kuwaiti servicemen killed while performing their national duties, offering condolences and praising their sacrifices.

Kuwaiti officials have carried out field inspections across key sectors to ensure the readiness of essential services, infrastructure, and strategic supplies. Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah visited the emergency shelter at Jahra Hospital and inspected telecommunications operations at Liberation Tower.

Other ministers inspected facilities related to supply chains and food security. Public Works Minister Dr Noura Al-Mashaan visited Shuwaikh Port, while Commerce and Industry Minister Osama Boodai toured poultry production companies and met with the Kuwaiti Farmers Union.

The health ministry confirmed that the strategic reserve of blood and blood components remains at safe levels, and the ministry of electricity, water, and renewable energy reviewed monitoring systems and emergency response plans to maintain uninterrupted water supplies.
