The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has instructed employers to display their electronic attendance policy and QR code at the entrance of their workplaces. This requirement is designed to streamline labor inspections across Kuwait.
During inspection visits, PAM inspectors must be able to scan the QR code and review the attendance policy on-site. Inspectors will also verify employees’ attendance and departure records as part of their routine checks.
According to PAM’s advisory, compliance with this requirement helps organize the work environment and makes inspection procedures more efficient. The authority views the measure as contributing to a more organized and efficient labor market overall.
Employers should ensure their QR codes and attendance policies are clearly visible and easily accessible at their establishment entrances to facilitate smooth inspections.
What This Means for Expats: If you work in Kuwait, your employer should now display attendance QR codes at the workplace entrance. This standardized system helps ensure transparent record-keeping of your attendance and departure times during labor inspections.
