Kuwait Justice Ministry Limits Staff, Ensures Uninterrupted Court Sessions

The Ministry of Justice in Kuwait has implemented measures to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of court operations and judicial sessions amid current regional developments. The ministry has limited employee attendance across several sectors to 30 percent of total staff in each department, as per decisions by the Civil Service Council and the Civil Service Bureau.

The new arrangements apply to the Administrative and Technical Affairs, Judicial and Legal Affairs, the General Administration for Execution, the General Administration for Experts, departments affiliated with the Minister of Justice and the Undersecretary, the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The attendance rate may be increased if required, in coordination with the Civil Service Commission.

The ministry has also directed supervisory personnel to monitor workflow on a daily basis and reorganize the duties of session secretaries to three days per week. Shift systems will continue in applicable departments, while evening work periods have been suspended, except for the Criminal Execution Department.

The ministry’s actions aim to safeguard the rights of litigants and maintain the stability of the Kuwaiti judicial system during the current regional situation.
