PAHW Qualifies 22 Alliances for Three Major Housing Projects

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has qualified 22 alliances made up of 41 Kuwaiti and international companies to advance to the next stage of procedures for three major housing projects. This qualification marks a significant step forward under PAHW’s “Real Estate Developer” initiative, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the government and the private sector.

According to Ahmed Al-Ansari, Deputy Director General for Investment and Private Sector Projects, the qualification process follows directives from the Council of Ministers to accelerate housing project procedures and expand private-sector participation. All qualified alliances have met the required technical and financial criteria necessary to move forward in the project development process.

The qualified alliances have been distributed across three key projects. Six alliances qualified for Al-Mutlaa (M-3), while eight alliances each were selected for East Saad Al-Abdullah and West Saad Al-Abdullah, along with the service axis in Jaber Al-Ahmad City.

These projects are part of Kuwait’s broader strategy to develop large-scale, integrated residential communities with greater private-sector involvement. The initiative is designed to increase the pace of housing delivery and support the country’s long-term urban development goals while addressing citizens’ housing needs.

The involvement of both Kuwaiti and international companies in these alliances reflects the government’s commitment to bringing diverse expertise and resources to the housing sector. By working through approved legal and technical frameworks, PAHW aims to ensure that projects meet high standards while progressing more efficiently than traditional government-led development.

What This Means for Expats: These housing projects represent Kuwait’s continued investment in large-scale residential development, which may eventually expand housing options and improve infrastructure in new communities across the emirate.
