The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait has launched a new digital service to streamline the process of reporting employee absences. Employers can now submit absence reports electronically through the As’hal portal, eliminating the need for in-person visits to the Labor Department.
Employees will receive instant notifications on the As’hal app and have 60 days to contest the absence report with the Labor Relations Department. Printed absence notifications can be obtained directly from the office without requiring PAM signatures, with QR code verification for security.
These printed notifications are valid for only 3 working days and must be filed with the Residency Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Interior within that timeframe to finalize the absence procedures.
PAM has hailed this new service as a significant step towards automation, promising faster and more efficient services for Kuwait’s workforce. Employers can access the new system through the As’hal portal on the PAM website at manpower.gov.kw.
