Kuwait Cricket Successfully Concludes Women’s Talent Hunt at Sulaibiya Paving the Pathway for Future Stars of Women’s Cricket in Kuwait
Kuwait Cricket (KCC) successfully conducted the Women’s Talent Hunt at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, marking a major step toward the long-term development of women’s cricket in the country.
The open trials welcomed aspiring cricketers from all walks of life including junior players, school athletes, box cricket enthusiasts, and former softball players – united by their desire to train with the hard ball and represent Kuwait at the national level.
The session was led by KCC Head Coach and Development Manager Qasim Ali, alongside Assistant Coach Aslam, who also serves as captain of the Kuwait Men’s National Team. Their collective expertise provided a valuable platform for spotting raw talent and introducing players to KCC’s development pathway.
Adding further significance to the occasion was the presence of Miss Awatif Al Qallaf, KCC Board Member, whose efforts have been pivotal in increasing awareness and encouraging participation among local Kuwaiti women cricketers.
Current national team players, including captain Amna Sharif Tariq, along with Maryam Omar, Shanthi, Suchita, Bhavani, and Khadija, mentored participants and shared inspiring stories from their journeys.
The initiative aligns with the progressive vision of the KCC Board, led by President Mr. Haider Farman and Director General Mr. Sajid Ashraf, who continue to champion grassroots development and gender inclusivity.
